Hissing - using the correct breathing method, slowly maintain a hissing 'ssssss' sound for as long as you can. If you'd like to challenge yourself, your time can be recorded.
Pitch Glides Through A Straw - using a straw, do a few pitch glides from your lowest possible note right up to your top note.
Silly Straw Singing - using a straw, hum the melody for a selected song. This will help place your voice before adding words.
Refers to a singer's ability to sing notes or phrases that have a lot of notes and moves quickly. While a student is developing their abilities, the trick is to help them hear the notes first, before gradually stepping up the speed to get them used to singing faster, before harnessing their vocal agility.
